Jeremy Brown, a language teacher, tries to make a living by teaching English to immigrants. With pupils from India, France, China, and many other countries, his lessons do not always go as planned.
01 Never Say Die Mr Brown mistakenly believes that Miss Courtney is dying. 02 Too Many Crooks Two crooks rob the shop of Ranjeet's cousin when he is in charge. To evade capture, they hide in the school. 03 Easy Come Easy Go The students have seven draws on the football pools and stand to win thousands of pounds if they can get one more! 04 Fifty Years On It's Miss Courtney's birthday, and finding Ingrid's mink coat in her office, she assumes that it's a present... 05 Time and Tide Mr Brown finds himself in deep water when he takes the students down the River Thames to improve their knowledge of English history. 06 Ghoulies and Ghosties Mr Brown scoffs at the suggestion that the school is haunted. 07 Mama Mia Giovanni's mother visits him at the school. 08 A Rash Decision Mr Brown and all the students catch a rash and fever, and soon they are admitted to a quarantine ward. 09 Wedding Fever Juan is accidentally locked in the school on the night before his wedding! 10 Everybody's Out There is discontent when the students form their own union. 11 The First Lady Mr Brown is suffering from flu and has a bizarre dream involving destruction at the school. 12 Teacher's Pet Mr Brown brings his neighbour's dog to class. 13 End of Term The school is closed and Miss Courtney is busy preparing for a European tour, while Mr Brown and the students arrive to find out how they have fared in their examinations.
